What is the difference between a Consultation and a New Patient Visit?

Schedule a new patient exam if you have:

  • Not been to a dental office in over a year or moredentist mirror against a patients smile | dentist gasport ny
  • Not had dental x-rays taken in quite some time
  • Not had your teeth cleaned recently
  • Concerns about your overall dental health

During that initial exam process, we’ll take a panoramic digital x-ray and perform a comprehensive exam and oral cancer screening.

Dental Consultation

A consultation may be appropriate for you if you’ve visited a dentist’s office recently, you can provide recent x-rays, and you’re up-to-date with your teeth cleanings. Scheduling a consultation is also a good idea if you want a second opinion on a subject like closing spaces, lengthening, whitening, straightening your teeth, or replacing missing teeth. After this free consultation appointment, your comprehensive examination is usually scheduled next.
