No! Regardless of the procedure, at no time will you leave the office without teeth. Dr. Kaplansky can make a temporary/transitional dental appliance that will make you look presentable. It will allow you to eat, talk, and use your teeth throughout the course of treatment.
What Are Temporary Crowns?
Temporary crowns look, feel, and function much like natural teeth, but they are not as durable or long-lasting as your permanent crowns will be. Temporary crowns are designed to only last for a certain amount of time, so it’s best to get your permanent crowns placed as soon as possible.
Caring for Temporary Crowns
Temporary crowns are cemented in place, but they can also easily crack or pop off if you’re not careful. To ensure your temporary crowns last until your permanent crowns are ready, avoid eating sticky or hard foods that could cause damage. However, if your temporary crown does break or pop out of place, we can easily and quickly fix it for you.
We also recommend brushing and flossing just as you would with your permanent crowns. Typically, patients only have temporary crowns for two or three weeks.
